Faisa Farole, LM, CPM

Faisa was born in Somalia and grew up in the United States.  She is the mother of two beautiful boys. For the last 15 years she has been working with women in a variety of capacities in healthcare and advocacy.  She is a graduate from Midwives College of Utah, Washington State Licensed Midwife, and a Certified Professional Midwife.

Her passion for midwifery derives from a love of the Midwifery Model of Care and the ability to inform, empower, and educate women and their families.  She believes that women can and should determine the course of their care and enjoys sharing that process with them.

Faisa works to ensure that midwifery care is an option available to every woman and that religious and socio-economic factors do not trump a woman’s right to be heard.  She proudly serves the Somali and Southeast Seattle community and is known for her warm, welcoming and skilled care.

As a clinician and active community member, Faisa is ideally situated to help guide the midwives and practitioners who have been internationally trained as they seek licensure in the US.

Maya Johnson, LM, CPM

Maya believes that everyone deserves wonderful individualized care, filled with love and informed choice in all stages of life, including pregnancy, childbirth, after birth and new family phase. Maya was born and raised in Brazil, and when she started Midwifery school in 2008, she did not know what to expect. Maya was accepted to one of the best public universities in South America, University of Sao Paulo, and currently the only one offering a college level direct-entry midwifery program in Brazil.

Maya has been involved with evidence-based care in midwifery since.  Maya’s maternity care experience started inside both public - free care - and private health clinics, as well as in public birth centers in which she offered doula and perinatal services, prenatal care, childbirth and postpartum care. Maya moved to United States in 2012 pursuing her dream to further her studies and get a Master’s degree in Maternal-Child Health, which she believed would help her become stronger in her advocacy for the care every pregnant person deserves.

Recently Maya became a Licensed Midwife in Washington State and a Certified Professional Midwife. During her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and play with her dog Buddy. Maya is honored to be a midwife and maternal-child health consultant, who envision to improve maternal and infant outcomes and provide birth equity through evidence-based practice.
