Jessica Tabakin (she/her)
Throughout a decade of serving families as a Certified Postpartum Doula, I have always said I am working for the day when our healthcare system recognizes importance of the Postpartum period, prioritizes Doula Care, and Lactation support and covers these services for ALL birthing families.
As a sole practitioner I have met this need in many incarnations: supporting organizations working for this cause, offering sliding scale and low cost doula services, having Postpartum Doula services paid for by a Grant, brokering one family subsidizing another’s postpartum care, contracting through a fertility acupuncturist, all to realize there is only so much one provider can do on their own.
Collaborating with Rainer Valley Midwives is the opportunity I have been seeking! I am delighted to join a team of brilliant birth professionals, with the intention of resolving the inequity embedded in our health care system. Being a CNA, Certified Nursing Assistant, I understand the importance of offering collaborative care, where providers work together, offering their observations to paint a whole picture.
Feeding families throughout the greater Seattle area, lactogenic meals during the postpartum period has been my favorite tool of health care. I look forward to nurturing your family as soon as we find a way through the 2020 Pandemic!
