Supportive Pregnancy Care®

Group Prenatal Care that Connects, Educates, and Prepares.

Our Pregnancy Meet-Up's  are now virtual due to the pandemic until further notice. Join midwives, health educators, and local families to learn together and get all of your pregnancy questions answered via zoom every third Saturday of the month! Follow us on Facebook and watch for announcements!

How does it work?

Supportive Pregnancy Care follows the recommended schedule of prenatal visits, but each visit is 90 minutes to two hours long - giving women 10x more time with their provider. Moms engage in their care and connect with each other, providing invaluable connections to community while learning with and from each other.  No waiting room time, you arrive on time and we jump in!

Groups are facilitated by a trained leader and midwife who work as a team to make sure each participant gets all they need.  We discuss everything from common discomforts, stress management, nourishing the body, mind, and family, to labor and delivery, breastfeeding, and infant care.

We have several scheduled private visits with your birth team and can meet one on one at any point during the pregnancy.

Supportive Pregnancy Care participants are actively engaged in their own healthcare and own their health information.  They learn from others who have more experience and mentor those who have less.  It's a true community and groups often stay in touch long after the pregnancy care comes to an end.

Our group participants are prepared for labor, delivery, and to care for their infant. They have a good understanding of what is normal during pregnancy and what is cause for concern.

Fear of childbirth is greatly reduced as it is normalized over the course of our work together.  This tends to lead to smoother labors and birth experiences.

Research has shown that we all prefer to have an outlet for sharing the day-to-day experiences and stress of our lives, and this shared understanding is one of the biggest benefits of this model of care.  There's something very comforting about feeling overwhelmed and hearing your story reflected in the stories of others around you.  We don't solve every problem, but tremendous healing occurs in the sharing.

Groups are informal, relaxed, and fun to attend!  With refreshments and comfy seating, everyone is welcome!
