CP Harrough (they/them/theirs)
Courtney Paige (CP) Harrough (they/them/theirs) currently serves as an Executive Assistant for Rainier Valley Midwives. With a working knowledge of nonprofit management, community education, and human sexuality, CP offers their experiences to work closely with nonprofit organizations and grassroots foundations to exceed their goals. CP’s personal and professional work is rooted in actively decolonizing and radicalizing spaces to better serve BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ community members.
CP was introduced to Rainier Valley Midwives through their relationship with Clinical Director, Jodilyn Owen, while serving as a Summer Intern within CHOICES Reproductive Clinic in Memphis, TN in 2018. In addition to their community work, CP is active in student rights and survivor rights. As the founder of a nonprofit, Safety Net, CP and their team have been able to successfully allocate free comprehensive sexual health education, peer-to-peer support, and justice to survivors/victims of sexual assault on college campuses in the greater Memphis area.
Recently awarded a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Memphis (2020), they are returning to school this fall to begin their dual degree program pursuing an M.A. English Literature, with a concentration in Queer Theory and African-American Literature, and an M.S. Clinical Mental Health Counseling program with a focus on Sex Education and Sex Therapy. Outside of work and schooling, CP lives in Memphis with their partner Sam, and three cats; Maple Gene, Sage, and Pigeon.
